Day 3 Kanji : Directions, People, and Sizes [Day 78]

Today, let’s look at some essential kanji and their meanings in both romaji (Roman letters) and Vietnamese.

People & Life

Examples:

  • 学生 (がくせい, gakusei): Học sinh

How to Remember ?

1. 男 (おとこ, otoko) – Man

  • Parts: Rice field (田) + Strength (力)
  • Meaning: A man uses strength to work in the rice field
  • Easy to remember: Think of a man working hard on a farm

2. 学 (がく, gaku) – Study / Learning

  • Parts: A child under a roof, learning
  • Meaning: A child studies under a roof (like in a school)
  • Easy to remember: Imagine a child learning in a classroom

3. 生 (せい / しょう, sei / shou) – Life / Birth

  • Shape looks like a plant growing from the ground
  • Meaning: Life begins and grows
  • Easy to remember: Think of something being born or growing
